The Retreat at Ridgewood in Medina, Ohio offers the chance to unplug and find peace.
In 2019 J.R. & Diane Mahon bought a 174-year-old farmhouse. The vision? Create a space where people could come, shut off the digital and check into Divine peace. Silence, prayer, meditation, spiritual direction, exercise, or write the next great American novel. Their goal? Serve your spiritual needs.
Ridgewood is set on 2.5 private wooded acres. Walking paths, farm animals and plenty of tranquility. Built in 1846 this century home was once 500 sprawling acres of apple orchards. Ridgewood’s retreat house is equipped with a small kitchen, bathroom and loft for sleeping. Retreaters can enjoy up to four nights stay with all meals included. Pick up and drop off from the Cleveland Hopkins International airport and of course s’mores around the campfire.

What to expect: Guests can engage in daily spiritual direction sessions, guided meditations, centering prayer, and prayer walks. Retreaters can eat with the Mahon family or enjoy private meals. Meals and snacks are covered in the cost of the retreat with much of it grown on site or sourced locally where available.
Ridgewood is located in historic Medina, Ohio which is loaded with small-town charm, incredible restaurants, cafes, and cute shops. Ridgewood is a special place with plenty of personality. Your stay will be transformative and unforgettable.

Retreat cost & Information
A $75 deposit is required to reserve the Ridgewood retreat house.
Retreats are $350.00 a night double occupancy
Retreats are unstructured and undirected, but can be structured upon request.
J.R. is available for spiritual direction. Your stay is an intensive and immersive time with J.R. and his wife Diane. It can be as organic or structured as you choose.
We encourage all retreaters to immerse themselves into the work of small farm living while enjoying their stay.
You may cancel your reservation up to one week before your retreat.

Meals included
Check-in time is between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Breakfast is in suite.
Kitchen includes sink, mini fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and toaster. Equipped with dishes and utensils.
Lunch is served from Noon to 12:30 p.m. in Main House
Supper is served from 6:00-6:30 p.m. in Main House
When guests depart, Retreat house must be vacated by 10:00a.m. in order to allow time for cleaning.
Restrictions
All buildings are smoke-free.
Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Pets are not allowed in the retreat house.
The retreat house primarily serves individual retreatants. Groups are not accommodated.
Ridgewood can provide pickup and drop off from Cleveland Hopkins Int. & Akron Canton Airport.
